Microsoft provides you a software tool called “Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor”.
This small software tool will scan your computer and create an easy-to-understand report of all known system, device, and program compatibility issues, and recommend ways to resolve them. Upgrade Advisor can also help you choose the edition of Windows Vista that best fits the way you want to use your computer.
To test your pc compatibility with windows vista first you need to download Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.
You can download Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor from the following location:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/upgradeadvisor/default.mspx
Click on the highlighted link to download the software. Install it.
After installing it will create a desktop icon.
Start the tool double clicking on it.
Note: Before you start the scan, plug in any devices that you regularly use with your computer, such as printers, scanners, or external hard drives.
Click on the “Start Scan” to start scanning your pc.
Click on the “See Details” when the scan completes.
The tool tells you if your pc is capable running Windows Vista. And also recommends a suitable version for you.
You can also choose between Windows Vista Versions.
