I personally find the Firefox keyword shortcut feature that hitting “backspace” takes you to the previous page.
At times my mouse pointer gets out of focus (hey! it’s the multi-tasking age!) from the text area and when I hit backspace, it tames me away from the page along with everything I wrote.
However, you can easily disable the backspace keyboard shortcut on Firefox.
To disable the backspace button taking you to browser back or previous page function:
1 – In the address bar type: about:config
2 – Scroll down to the entry called browser.backspace_action
3 – Double-click on this row and it will pop up a dialog box asking you to enter a value. The current value will be 0, change it to be 2 then click OK.
Done!
