Collected my BRAC Hardware Token (2 Factor Authentication or 2FA / One Time Password or OTP) today. Basically it’s a re-branded DIGIPASS 275 token from Vasco.
You can learn more on this token here: https://www.vasco.com/products/client_products/esignature_digipass/digipass_275.aspx
It comes in a nice gift box type packing and includes user manual. Activating it requires a PIN but unfortunately they did not provide me with the PIN along with it. I’ll have to visit the branch again (grrrr) to collect my PIN. (Or to find out how that can be collected). So you might like to query about the PIN when you go to collect yours.
The unit does not have the option to replace the battery. But as it requires to be turned on before it generates the OTP, I am sure it will last years with the included battery.
The devices requires it’s own PIN before it displays the OTP. So it should be even ore secure than the Software Token that does not appear to be have a password lock function. You can check the Software Token for Android here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.BRACBankAccess
